Christina & Dong were filled with love while posing for their Engagement Session at San Juan Capistrano taken by Karen French.

Oanh and Eddie love to party, and so do their friends! The reception took place at the Huntington Beach Hyatt, where a professional rap dance company performed to get the evening started. A KROQ DJ then took over and played great music throughout the night. The 10-course Vietnamese dinner included lobster, duck and shark fin soup. Did I mention Oanh, Eddie and their friends like to eat, too? The ceremony was more low key and took place at a Buddhist temple with a monk officiating. Oahn wore a traditional ao dai tunic. After the morning ceremony, the couple and wedding party headed over to the Hyatt where Oahn changed into Western apparel for the evening reception. I love my job and one of the best things about it is taking part in cultural weddings.

Peter’s family does mariachi music competitively and Tara is very involved and competes in traditional Mexican dance. So, we had fun incorporated these very important things to them in their engagement session. The San Juan Capistrano Mission was the perfect setting. We’ve done photoshop effects to help emphasize the beautiful detail of the clothing.

Vivian and Bogdan’s wedding was held at the St.Regis Monarch Bay in Orange County. The ceremony took place on the Botanical Lawn and the reception at Club 19. This venue offers a great variety of backdrops for photos. The two staircases, one curved and one linear, have several angles that work well in pictures. Vivian is of Korean decent, so after dinner she and Bogdan changed into traditional Korean Hanbok attire. The Hanbok, which is worn for formal events, is characterized by vibrant colors and simple lines. Venue: St.Regis Monarch Bay /

Yoshihiro is a professional sports and celebrity photographer and wedding photographer. During my career, I have shot over 40 weddings of professional photographers. In addition to Yoshihiro’s wedding this year, I also photographed a paparazzo and wedding photographer wedding. I enjoy working with people who are in the visual arts they are discerning and appreciate my technical and artistic talents. Another perk is that after shooting their weddings, we often become good friends!

Black and white works excellent with locations that have architecture. At Hummingbird Ranch we had a combination of garden settings but also areas that had architectural elements. The printing process is very important with black and white, detail should be kept in the highlights and shadow areas. It takes someone very skilled in photoshop to do black and white correctly, but when it’s done right it’s absolutely beautiful! We had a fun time working with Brytanie and Brian and Hummingbird Ranch was a location with many wonderful backdrops to choose from.

One could not ask for a sweeter couple than Jenny and Aaron. Both have a heart of gold. Jenny’s convertible Bug was the “get away” car from Community Congregational Church in Corona del Mar. It gave us some fun photo opps. The tent wedding on the golf course at Oak Creek in Irvine was beautiful, especially as the sun set. Jenny’s two brothers did one of the funniest best man toasts I’ve ever heard.
