Wondering if a boudoir photo shoot is right for you?
Here are the most common questions I hear:
We will show off your beauty and you’ll look amazing!
What is your background as a photographer?
20 years ago, I started my career by assisting some of Los Angeles’ top fashion and celebrity photographers. Today, I have one of the top boudoir studios on the west coast. CBS profiled my boudoir studio on ‘This Is LA’ in 2017.
Over 2,640 women from Los Angeles and Orange County have visited our studio and done a boudoir photo-shoot with us. We’ve had a blast together, too!
I’m also the most published wedding photographer in the country
I’m not as young (or thin) as I used to be. Can you make me look good?
Yes! Boudoir is for all women, no matter her age or size. I use a variety of poses and lighting techniques that highlight your favorite areas and minimize those you like the least.
We have photographed women whose ages range from 22 (our minimum age for a boudoir photo shoot) to well into their 60s.
Does a professional stylist do my hair and makeup?
Yes! Our hair and makeup stylists are some of the best in the industry, and they’ve worked for film productions, photography studios and television. Expect to spend around 90 minutes in hair and makeup.
Are men allowed in your studio?
It’s important that the studio be a safe space for everyone. Our clients have shared that our women-only environment helped them feel comfortable, free, and more relaxed.
Do you retouch the photos?
Yes, unless you prefer that we don’t retouch your photos. If you do choose retouching, we can remove or soften wrinkles, cellulite, stretch marks, and blemishes. My retoucher used to work with Guess Jeans and is considered one of the best in California.
What should I wear?
Whatever feels fun to wear and makes you feel beautiful. Lingerie that fits closely to the body and has support works fabulous! Corsets, bustiers, body stockings, chemises, and matching bra and panty sets are always stunning choices. Avoid baby dolls — the flowy, loose fit adds 20 pounds. In addition to your four lingerie outfits you can also bring your favorite sports jersey or leather jacket to add variety.
What are some tips for a successful boudoir photo shoot?
It’s all in the preparation! Get plenty of sleep and stay well-hydrated the day before (and of) your shoot. Come to the studio wearing loose-fitting clothes that won’t leave marks in your skin. We’ll share more tips when you book your appointment – and answer your questions, too!
Where is your studio?
Our 2,000 square-foot studio is exclusively dedicated to boudoir photography. Most of our clients are from Los Angeles and Orange County. We are 15 miles south of the LA County border and conveniently located off the 405 and 5 freeways near South Coast Plaza. Parking is free and right outside our front door.

From the moment you step into her studio, you’ll feel like a celebrity! The professional hair & makeup, the instruction she gives during the shoot, and the inspiring backdrops in her studio pump up the sexy. I sauntered out of there with so much confidence. And when it was time to view the photos, I had to pinch myself. “Is that really me?” Every woman deserves to treat herself to this unbelievably empowering experience.

Let me first start off by saying how amazing and empowered the session made me feel. Karen was absolutely fabulous. She made me feel very comfortable and and showed me all the right poses to make this photo session a success. The studio is very cute and most of all clean.
Swtzee J., Irvine, CA
Karen French Photography is the place to go to get your boudoir pics done! Whether it’s for your fiancé, boyfriend or just for yourself, it’s a beautiful, fun and empowering experience. Karen’s studio is professional and the elaborate backdrops will give you amazing options for photos.
Astrid A., Washington DC
She guided me throughout the whole process. She helped me understand the different poses by doing them herself. That helped a lot! She took over 250 images and we picked the best 50. They stand by what they say: our boudoir clients are every day women – real women – who have chosen to do a boudoir photo session. Great customer service with a very professional photo studio and talented people.
